
Drumheller Itinerary - 3 days, 2 nights
This is a real itinerary that you can use to visit Drumheller. It is adventurous and family friendly.
Day 1:
See the world's largest dinosaur statue!
Drive 1.25 hours from Calgary International Airport to Drumheller. Drive through the badlands. Check into Drumheller hotel. Visit the world's largest dinosaur statue and climb to the top for photos and a view of Drumheller. Drop into the shops and explore the town. Pick a restaurant to have dinner.
Day 2:
Golf a round of 9 holes in the badlands, hike Horseshoe Canyon and watch the Badlands Passion Play.
Grab breakfast at the hotel. Enjoy a round of golf in the badlands first thing in the morning. Go for lunch then visit Horseshoe Canyon. Descend to the bottom of the canyon and go for an afternoon hike. Be on the look out for fossils! Pick up your picnic meal at the Badlands Passion Play just before show time and enjoy the play in the evening.
Note: you will need to book your round of golf ahead of time at the Dinosaur Trail Golf and Country Club and you will also need to purchase tickets for the Badlands Passion Play before your trip.
Day 3:
Visit Horsethief Canyon, the Little Church and the Royal Tyrrell Musem.
Have breakfast at the hotel. Go for a drive on the North Dinosaur Trail. Visit Horsethief Canyon for breathtaking views. Drive back down the North Dinosaur Trail and stop at the Little Church for photos. Then Visit the Royal Tyrrell Museum. Have lunch at the museum. Drive back to Calgary.
Note: you can buy tickets for the Royal Tyrrell Museum prior to your visit. This is recommended so you're guaranteed entry and don't have to wait in line!
